Overland Expo SoCal was a resounding success for LiquidSpring®, showcasing our superior suspension technology to an enthusiastic crowd of adventure enthusiasts. This inaugural event in Southern California introduced us to new overlanding and off-road enthusiasts looking for the best equipment to improve their adventures.
A Powerful Partnership Display
Our team joined forces with several premier partners to create an impressive showcase of what’s possible when you combine the best in overlanding equipment. LiquidSpring’s display was strategically positioned alongside Elevation Off Grid, Bowen Customs, and Super Tramp Campers, creating a comprehensive exhibit that demonstrated the full potential of our suspension system across various applications.
Visitors had the opportunity to see our suspension technology installed on multiple vehicles, including:
- Ford F-350
- RAM 5500
- Ford F-550
- RAM 3500 (our SEMA showcase truck)
This variety of installations demonstrated the versatility of LiquidSpring’s technology across different chassis and applications, helping attendees visualize how our system could upgrade their specific setup.
A Muddy Demo
The highlight of the event came unexpectedly when a nearby vendor’s 18-wheeler semi became stuck in the mud after overnight rain. This presented a perfect real-world demonstration of LiquidSpring’s capabilities when an Elevation Off Grid truck equipped with our suspension system came to the rescue.
Using a winch mounted to the front of the truck, the LiquidSpring-equipped F-550 with a Super Tramp Camper in the back pulled the massive semi free from the mud.
Typically, when a truck pulls a heavy load with a front-mounted winch, the nose dips significantly under the strain. Thanks to our advanced suspension system, the truck maintained proper stance and stability during the entire operation, handling the extreme load with impressive control. Hundreds of attendees witnessed this unplanned but perfect demonstration of LiquidSpring’s performance benefits in challenging conditions.

Is Liquid Spring a hydraulic suspension?
While many visitors initially referred to our system as “hydraulic,” we were able to educate them on the unique technology behind LiquidSpring. Our system uses a proprietary compressible fluid as the spring mechanism, offering significant advantages over traditional hydraulic systems.
Unlike conventional hydraulic setups, our system isn’t affected by temperature or humidity changes, maintains consistent performance in all weather conditions, and provides both the soft ride of air suspension and the stability of a stiffer suspension without compromise. The advanced microprocessor adjusts 1,000 times per second, creating a responsive system that outperforms traditional options in both comfort and capability.
What happens if something breaks in remote areas?
Reliability concerns are natural for overlanders who venture far from civilization. We explained that even in the rare event of a system issue, vehicles equipped with LiquidSpring can still be driven (at the lowest setting) to reach service. Additionally, most of our components use standard, off-the-shelf parts that any reputable truck shop can access.
What exactly am I getting for the investment?
Many visitors were surprised to learn that LiquidSpring is not just a shock or strut replacement but a complete suspension system upgrade.
